Welcome to the Free Drop Sunshine Ladies Tour wrap where each day throughout the Sunshine Ladies Tour season – we recap the performances of our former podcast guests.
Here’s all you need to know from the final round of the Jabra Ladies Classic which took place at Glendower Golf Club.
T-2. Nicole Garcia (-4)
Playing in the company of great friend Stacy Bregman, a birdie at the 1st was a nice way for the 30-year-old’s round to start. A second birdie at the 5th sandwiched between two bogeys meant that Garcia arrived at the par-5 8th level-par for the day.
A magnificent eagle-3 helped Garcia turn in two-under par 34. She made a solid start to her inward nine with three pars before a birdie-4 at the par-5 13th. Another red-number at the 15th was followed by a second eagle of the day – an astonishing 2 at the 410-yard par-4 16th.
While a double-bogey at her final of the day cancelled out the eagle, Garcia will no doubt be buoyed by the fact that she is certainly rounding into some great form.
T-14. Casandra Hall (+7)
Casandra Hall had mixed fortunes early on the final day. Dropped shots at the 1st and 4th were offset by birdies at the par-3 3rd and par-4 7th holes respectively. Hall turned in two-over par, however, after a double-bogey 6 at the 9th.
The big-hitting 21-year-oldmanaged to keep the squares off the card coming in and back-to-back birdies at the 12th and 13th came on a homeward nine which otherwise consisted of seven pars.
An even-par final day means that the 21-year-old finished the tournament in a three-way tie for 14th place.
Final Thoughts
Well done to Nicole on the runner-up and hats off to Casandra for a second consecutive Top-15. With back-to-back runner-up finishes by former Free Drop podcast guests so far this season – the ladies truly are playing some great golf.
