Welcome to the Free Drop Sunshine Ladies Tour wrap where each day throughout the season we re-cap the performances of our former guests.
Here’s all you need to know from round three of the Supersport Ladies Challenge at Gary Player Country Club.
T-7. Casandra Hall (+4)
Casandra Hall overcame a slow start in which she dropped shots on her first two holes of the day. The 21-year-old rebounded superbly with back-to-back birdies at the 5th and 6th. A third red-number at the par-4 8th helped Hall turn in one-under par 35.
She continued her climb up the leaderboard with a birdie at the 11th while carding another at the 14th. Hall offset a bogey at the 15th with a birdie at the 16th. Despite finishing her round with a bogey, Hall will no doubt be pleased to have ended her week with a sub-par round.
T-13. Ivanna Samu (+8)
Over the 3 days of the tournament, Ivanna Samu improved her score each round. Three bogeys over her first eight holes at the 2nd, 6th and 7th was not the start the 22-year-old was after. A birdie at the 9th, however, marked something of a turning point.
An eagle at the par-5 11th was followed by a birdie at the 12th. Three pars followed before she gave the shots gained at the 11th and 12th back with a triple-bogey 6 at the 16th. A birdie at the 18th capped a day which featured plenty of positives.
T-13 Cara Gorlei (+8)
Cara Gorlei began with four straight pars before a bogey at the 5th. Four further pars added up to an opening nine of one-over 37.
She began her inward nine with a couple of pars before three bogeys in a row. Four pars to close out the day saw Gorlei finish in a tie for 13.
T-20. Nicole Garcia (+13)
Nicole Garcia bounced back from a difficult second round with a two-over 74. It certainly was an eventful start to the round with two birdies and two bogeys over her first four holes. Two more bogeys at the 6th and 7th meant Garcia was two-over at the turn.
Birdies at the 11th and 15th were mixed with a double-bogey 5 at the 16th. Two closing pars put the seal on a T-20 finish for the 30-year-old.
